Megan Blacksmith:
Hello there. It’s Megan, welcome, welcome. Welcome Back to Our Podcast. I’m super happy to be here with you today. I have been thinking about I’ve been thinking about the best way to share this for a while, and what I want to share today is, what the heck is the benefit of NLP, the trainings we offer, and what does it mean? How can we use it? How do we use it? Because I often just make this assumption that people are like me, and that they just buy stuff based on feeling, which is how I got into it in the first place. I got into it just for personal reasons. I found NLP, because I honestly just had some personal crisis going on in my relationship, and I really knew I needed some tools to help me break through, like some things I was holding on to, some events, some emotions and some patterns, like some interactions. I knew there was a way to break this pattern and the strategy and clear it, and I just hadn’t gotten there. So I just jumped all in without really knowing what I was going to and I have found that sometimes it’s really, really hard for me to explain why and who should come to our trainings, because there’s such a broad variety of things that happen. And there’s a broad variety of reasons people are there, but it comes down to a few key things, a Q fee, a few key things, really, which I put into three categories of the way we’re using it. So there’s the upfront, like, NLP is neuro linguistic programming. So this is linguistic meaning words, right? Neuro meaning the connection with the mind and the brain programming. Yeah, you heard it. It’s like, why TV is called programming. So this is how words that are used are programming us, or we are programming others, or we’re programming our own subconscious mind as we speak. So that’s why words are so important, because we can be programming someone completely away from us without realizing it. So words getting clear on them, getting clear on communication leads to the very first place that NLP is used can be sales and marketing. And that’s not just sales and marketing. If you are selling a program that’s also selling which restaurant you want to go to, to your family or get to get your kids to eat broccoli, right? So this is the this is the idea of negotiation, persuasion, being able to communicate effectively and in a way that somebody feels heard and supported. So that’s the first way. The second way is really more about coaching yourself or coaching ourselves into a higher version of ourself. So you all know at this point, I imagine, if you have a business that it is a direct reflection of you, the decisions you make and the actions you take. So if you’re noticing that you’re at some level of plateau, and you want to break through them, I know most people have come to find out, maybe that’s not why they got. Into business, but that this really, especially if you have a personal brand, that this really becomes like you can only go so far as your personal development is willing to go. So that’s the next area. And then the third area is using tools in NLP, and what we teach at Quantum Time technique, using those directly working with clients, so actually facilitating a 60 minute, 90 minute session using the tools. So I’ve had someone come to me saying, oh, Megan, I didn’t realize that your program really was the most perfect fit. And exactly what did I what I needed next? She said, Because I never planned on using these tools with clients like I don’t ever plan on doing sitting down and having a one on one NLP session. And I said, Oh, my goodness, I have not been explaining this well, because that is not a necessity or a requirement. You do not have to be a one on one coach or a direct coach. These can be used 100% in groups as well and just in your language, if you lead a team that will be in your language, if you lead a membership, if you have a group, if you speak online, if you speak on podcasts. So there’s a lot a lot of different ways that this can be used. So what I wanted to do, I decided to break this down into the top 12 ways I’m using NLP in our business. So as I was making my list, I was like, oh shoot, there’s so many more than 12. This is hard, but what I did was just the brain dump of what the first 12 were that come up. So maybe I’ll maybe I’ll share more later, but these were just the top 12 things that I use all the time on a daily basis, and I just thought I would share with you, and you can start to realize and think about, what areas are you doing really well in, and what areas are you also using this and then where is There some room for improvement? Because there were some concepts in when I first went to my NLP training that I had never heard quite in that way, or maybe I’d heard it, but it hadn’t really sunk in. I didn’t really understand the why behind and once I understood the why behind it, I was like, Oh, this isn’t just, this isn’t just like, it would be cool if this is this is powerful, like a little example, which isn’t even on my list. The why behind when you’re when you’re leading a group call and you’re on Zoom, and you ask people to turn on their cameras, and you maybe even ask them to all write something down at the beginning. You’re getting everybody in rapport. You’re getting their unconscious mind on board. If their camera is on, it is assigned to their unconscious mind that they are like, fully, fully there. They’re ready to be there and participate. It’s a different level of commitment when it’s not so I know people can’t always turn on their cameras, but really, really training the people we work with about how important that is and the why it’s not just because I want to look at you and see if there’s a mess behind you. I don’t care, right? But there’s actually a reason. So as a coach, you can start to teach people. I’m not just asking, I’m not just asking you to do this for my benefit. This really is for your benefit too, which I didn’t realize or plan this, but that actually does lead totally into my number one, which is we use pre frames for working with us. So what the heck are pre frames? Pre frames are kind of what one I just shared, but pre frames are, it’s like the mental or emotional setup that you’re sharing with the people you work with or your clients. It’s a set of expectations up front so that people you work with will know how to work with you, how to engage with you, and it will influence how receptive they are to to that structure. Just like I said, if people understand why I’m asking you to turn on your cameras up front, then they will be more likely to do that, right? They will be more likely to show up. They’re going to realize it’s like, Oh, this isn’t one of those calls I can just do, like, while cooking and not really paying attention. Because what happens is, when we’re doing transformation work, or any time of work, any any work you do where you’re coaching somebody or teaching somebody to go to a different level, then there’s going to be some pushback. Their mind is going to say, I’ve always done it a different way, what you’re trying to get me to do, and it is going to be like, no, oh no. This is during dinner I really need to be Oh, shoot at. The oven’s getting too hot, right there. There will be some pull. So we’re helping the people we work with up front get present and just not let their unconscious mind not let these little distractions. Take them away from their goals because they paid you, I hope for something, for a way to get to that next level. And if you’re letting their unconscious mind rule the show, then you’re not really the leader or the coach, and they will feel that, and they maybe will finish the program, but they probably won’t work with you again. They probably won’t probably won’t refer people, and they maybe won’t even quite know why they need to feel like, Oh, you’ve got me so we have, if anybody’s come to any of our presentations, any of our two day events, any of our seven day events, you will hear our pre frames for working with us up front, things like responsibility, for value things like perception is projection. There’s a lot of different ones that we share on almost every presentation, because we are letting people know. This is how we interact. This is what we do. When we offered, we used to offer Voxer, like the little walkie talkie app, phone thing, as a part of programs back in the day, and we had very specific upfront pre frames of this is how this will work. This is how many you’re allowed to send. This is the length, and this is what will happen if you don’t follow it. So it’s much, much easier, much much easier to correct something like that if you’ve set a pre frame up front than if you haven’t, because then otherwise people are like, you know, they’re on a 12 minute long winded telling you the whole back story, and you’re just like, I just want to know what you caught. Don’t take me fishing right there on their story. And if you haven’t told them up front, then you’re going to feel probably a little bit different about having to stop them. So it does help to set this all up front.

Okay, that’s number one. Number two. Another way we use this. So we talked about the personal breakthrough, and this also falls into working with clients, but if you don’t plan on working with clients, and the personal breakthrough would be we use these tools, so subconscious reprogramming, one of our main tools we personally use and teach that you’d be certified in after seven days, is Quantum Time technique. It’s a way of clearing limiting decisions, limiting beliefs. So you can do it one on one in person, but people will once they leave our trainings. One of the biggest benefits, in my opinion, is that you have a community because you’ve been through something. You have been through it with these people seven days out of your environment really going deep. So now you have these people to lean on for years and years and years. And every single time you get to a new level, you can reach out to your buddy and be like, Hey, can I? I’ll help. Clear for you. You clear for me and move to the next level. I mean, or you can hire a coach, right? Like you can get a $6,000 package. But the cool thing is, you will have these people just they will be your friends, right? You’ve gone through this together. So during a session, we can help someone. I’ve helped people in business who already had a structure, already had something amazing going on, and they’re like, I just don’t know why. I can’t get myself to it. Just doesn’t seem to be selling. Or I can’t, I never seem to follow up with that last email. Or, you know, there’s just, I know there’s a little bit more I can do, and they’re a little bit they’re essentially stopping themselves. But don’t know why I this is my masterpiece. I am able to get to people’s limiting decisions really, really quickly, and we can clear that. I do that in our 60 minute. Many of you done I’ve done our 60 minute. We have a resistance breakthrough session. So first time people only, we do offer it. It’s normally $500 we do offer it one time only for 197 just so you can experience it. So definitely come on over to our Instagram if that’s if you have never done it before and would like to test it out. But I have had people completely changed their whole business. They’ve left that session and said, Oh my gosh, I know exactly what I need to do. They’ve left that session and gone into a sales call or a coaching call and shown up completely different that people have noticed, because this was an unconscious belief running the show. So it’s a little bit hard to put words to, because there’s nothing you actually need to know. It’s just an experience of shifting the belief and now you show up differently, because those limiting beliefs can be really, really, really stopping us from achieving our next level of goals. All right. Number three objection busting. So objections usually when you get questions, any questions you get at the end of a presentation, or how to work with you, of like, oh, yeah, but how long are the calls? Or what time are the calls really underneath that is some kind of objection, and we help people with language to reframe them to just overcome that resistance. There are many different patterns. There’s a slight of mouth patterns. There’s different ways of helping people reframe, like, if they come to you with the I don’t have time for this, you can reframe that. What if investing in this 10. Time now actually saves you countless hours down the road, there’s lots of people who will come to us and say, Yeah, I’m gonna come do your NLP training. I know I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna come do it when my business is going better. First I’m gonna focus on that. And sometimes that makes sense, and sometimes we say, You know what? If this has been a pattern, NLP is actually the thing to break the pattern. This is the program that people then end up following through on the other programs. So we end up promoting James Wedmore business by design every year, because we love it, and we’re we do it, and we’re still, I’m still in his community. And BBD is filled like filled with every Lego manual, he calls them to building a business of like, do you want to do it in a webinar style? Do you want to do it in a send three emails? Do you want to do it with a membership? And you know, there’s so many, so many options, and you just pick a plan and you follow through. And there are so many people who they have this in front of them, and they’re still not picking up land and following through. And so they’re saying, What the heck? Like? Why am I not doing this thing like? And so we know that that usually is the goes back to number two. It goes back to the belief. So we know that with clearing the beliefs, now they’ll reopen business by design and be like, Oh, it was right here. I just do this and this and this. But they couldn’t do that yet, because really underneath was some fear of visibility. So we usually say one of our objection busting is that this is actually the program we suggest you do first we’re in conjunction with because it will allow you to actually grow your business faster, all right? Number four, so eliciting values, and then another process, and the Master Practitioner level is rearranging value so values are so important, it’s how people decide what they’re going to buy. It’s how people decide what they’re going to do. If you want to know where people where their values are. What are your values are? Go check your credit card statement, you will see that I highly value experiences and trips and trainings. I do not value actual goods, like barely ever purchasing a piece of clothing or a thing, but lots of lots of money goes towards experiences and trainings. So being able to understand that your value really dictates your behavior will help you decide and figure out, maybe if you’re not moving as quickly as you’d like to go, you can start to ask yourself, What’s most important to me in the context of business, right? What are these values? And I just did a one day workshop where we went really, really deeply into values. I am considering doing it again. So if you are interested in that, just send me a DM on Instagram, becoming zesty, because I am thinking about doing that again. But we elicited values, and sometimes we find like people realize, Oh, my God, I don’t even have money as a value, or money or wealth or abundance or some form of income as a value in my business, in the context of business, and a business cannot run without money. So that is a problem. Or there’s freedom is really high up there, but it’s conflicting with the actual doing of anything in business. So value is super duper important for people understand, especially in a health journey too. You know, very conflicting values will they will not get the results no matter what number five powerful coaching questions. So we use the Milton and the metal meta model. Milton is basically really vague language chunked up, meaning very, very high in the clouds, open to possibilities, right? It’s It’s the very broad and vague, while as meta model helps you chunk down into more specifics you are trying to uncover the actual hidden details that the person’s not telling you. So this is the idea, anytime someone comes to you, the problem is not actually the problem. So their problem might be really chunked up. They’re like, nothing works for me. Or they might be really, really chunk down. They’re like, Oh, it’s these zoom breakout rooms that are the problem. And so when you go with the chunked up person, you have to try to figure out, well, what specifically doesn’t work for you. And you can go down and down and down and down and down until you actually get to an answer. And then you have something to work with, right? Because nothing, I mean, that’s that’s hard to work with. Or you’ll realize the person who was really down in the weeds, they’re saying that it’s the specific problem. But really, when you chunk up, you’ll realize there was they were actually afraid it would work, right? Like, oh my gosh, what will happen? I’ll be super visible, and then my aunt will see. I’m doing and I’m a fraud, right? There could just be all these beliefs tied to it. So if we listen to the actual person’s words, you will probably get pulled into what we call problem trance, which is usually not actually what the problem is. So there’s a Milton model and the meta model are ways of questioning and coaching to help people chunk up, chunk down. It actually brings them in and out of trance, and it helps them solve their own problems. Sometimes the questions alone, you will see a change on their face, and they will go, Oh my gosh. This is like 90% of what I use in coaching is this. And I will tell you people I have one session with, they’re like, that changed everything for me. And I don’t want to say it’s like, simple. I mean, in a way, I’m like, gosh, this really, really is simple. Of what I do. I go down and down and down and down until I can’t get there anymore. And then I go over to the side, and I go back up, and then you just keep going, and it will uncover. Eventually I get to what we call a double bind. There’s something happening where if you go one direction, it’s not good, and if you go the other direction, it’s also not good. So the mind has created like a standstill, because you’re like, Well, if I grow, ooh, that’s scary. If I don’t grow, I’m gonna not be able to feed my kids, right? So there’s the there’s a bind there, alrighty.

So number six, sales calls we use, we use NLP, languaging for sales calls language, there’s scripts, there’s ways to learn how to build rapport really quickly and really effectively. There’s a way to help guide people toward a yes, as long as it’s a good fit. And there’s also a way to let them go really quickly, if it’s not so it’s helping you discover quickly. You can help them see and visualize that there’s a solution they can get to begin to get excited about taking the next step. You are helping them feel safe and helping them move towards what they want, and getting all that unconscious stuff out of the way with language. So this is something that has really, really helped, especially people in the health space that we work with, because we end up working with a lot of health coaches and practitioners who, you know, maybe it’s like, yeah, none of us were taught sales, especially if I started in functional medicine, like, I I don’t know how to correctly communicate, they were like, Yeah, right. So there’s something going on with your gut and and learning the actual language to help move somebody in the direction that they’re already wanting. They’re already there for. So this is not persuading people that aren’t a good fit. This is help, helping move the people that really do want it, all right, numero siente, number seven. So motivation strategy. So in NLP, we break down motivation and what drives up. So you’ll see that some people are really motivated by moving away from pain, and some people are motivated by moving towards what they want. And we teach people, what are their strategies, what are their triggers like? How Do They Know It’s time to start doing something, and we can help them create a chain with anchors. You know, this can be physical, like auditory. We can we can have sounds involved. We can have movement involved. But a way to help break free from maybe, if they they end up staying in procrastination. How do we move from procrastination to motivation? We can actually create a chain of strategies. So that’s a very powerful technique, number eight, tasking. So tasking is another word for homework. This is so powerful. I was not doing this before. NLP, so I would have a session with a client at that point, I was health coaching, and I would talk to them a lot, and we would get through their goals, and we would get onto things, and then I’d say, all right, you’re good. Go ahead for the next session. I was not specifically saying, What are you committed to doing before the next session. We weren’t breaking it down that clearly, and I wasn’t getting their buy in verbally. So maybe I’m like, Okay, you’re gonna be drinking more water. Wouldn’t do lemon water. But I wasn’t really getting them to commit in a way that not only they’re committing, but they are saying I am committing and I will not have my next session unless I’ve done the tasking. So you are getting buy in, but also if they show up to the next call and they’re like, No, I just didn’t feel like doing it, then they are not upholding their end of the deal, as long as they they agreed with with you as well, and therefore you do not have this session. I’ve had people have huge breakthroughs just around that because they felt like they were getting in trouble by the teacher. And that alone, they came back the next session and they’re like, oh my gosh, I’ve been doing this thing that I. Came to you about the habit I wanted to change that I couldn’t get myself to do for three years, and I have done done it consistently for the last seven days. And I said, Well, what happened? She said, Well, you told me I would not have another session and that I would lose my session. And I started to realize I’m like, why am I paying you to show up and talk and not actually do the thing that I’m here for like, what am I doing? She realized she was essentially sabotaging so tasking very important. Number nine, emotional processing. So having a tool to help yourself with your emotions, help your clients with your emotions, is so important to us. It can be the difference between whether someone can really tap into their intuition or not. It can be the difference in as to whether we hold on to dis ease like something physically in the body, body or not. So this is a category that we go deep, deep, deep into in our training. Not all NLP trainings have the same level of emotional processing that we do, but just because Dr Alex and I needed it so much. Personally, we’ve really increased this part for us. We think that, you know, In Quantum Time technique, we do we clear the big six, so anger, sadness, hurt, fear, guilt and shame. And we also, on a day to day basis, are giving people tools to move energy throughout the body number 10, personal breakthrough. So we talked about that in the beginning. It’s just that our business will only grow to the level that we do. So personal breakthroughs are essential for business growth as well. You might realize you’re playing small due to a fear of failure, we use techniques like anchoring, reframing. We have Quantum Time technique. There’s a lot of ways to just keep expanding your ability to hold a bigger container, to hold a bigger dream, to help more people. The more people you help, there will be a level of something that comes up in you. It happens for everybody at different stages of business. They’re like, Woohoo. This one, this level, is a little bit scary. I was okay with 10 people in my group, but now that it’s 30, I feel very responsible. I feel like, you know this is a bigger weight, so making sure that you are doing the personal, personal work is, for us, exactly where we’ve seen people’s businesses grow is usually they have a personal breakthrough that year, often family related, and they learn to really speak up, or they learn like, oh my gosh, I am a people pleaser. They literally look at their boundaries, and then all of a sudden, magically, the business grows too, because the container is, it’s ready, right? It’s like, our business mentor said, he’s like, Yeah, it’s like, you, you guys created a restaurant, a bigger restaurant, right? So, like, we created a bigger restaurant. That, in the restaurant industry, if you create a bigger room, and you add more chairs, then more people come. So you create the space that’s safe for them, and then you can have more people in your group. Number 11 embedded commands. So these can be used in emails or sales pages or this is a powerful way to use language to in fully influence a person while they’re reading. So this is language at its finest. This is helping you get towards where you want to go. It’s words, like you’re gonna feel excited to get started. Imagine yourself already benefiting from this product. So it’s a way of, like actually stepping into the shoes already. You’re tapping into the subconscious. Of like you have everything inside you to do this. You know that this is the next step. So we’re helping them see the power the opportunities, just like the endless opportunities that they have through language. So just making sure that these are words you’re using, making sure that they are always positive, because sometimes people will be embedding commands that are actually telling them not to buy now. So there, there’s a magic to this, and it’s important, all right. Number 12, oh, my favorite, is storytelling, storytelling and open loops. So what is an open loop? An open loop is when you tell part of a story, but you haven’t quite told the end of it, and our brain really wants resolution. Have you ever seen that you’re like, saw part of a headline and then disappeared? It’s amazing how some of our social media apps, it’s like, oh, you open the app and something’s at the top, and you got to read a little bit of it, and then poof, it’s gone. And you’re like, wait, where was that you’re searching? Have you ever had that feeling like, oh my gosh, it’s I’m searching. I’m looking for it. So you stay on the app longer, crazy, right? So it’s like a cliffhanger.

Leave somebody engaged, so you can actually start a story, and then you can be teaching the things you want to teach people. So now here’s my three amazing tips on how to calm. Nervous System, and then you can end the story, because while the story, while the loop is open, all the things in the middle will will go right into their unconscious mind. So it’s a powerful way for your students to actually take in what they’re trying to learn. Right? They want to learn from you. They’re like, please teach me, in a way, because we are so our attention is so drawn all the time, like we’re all over the place. We actually at this point, it’s sad, but because of the lack of ability to pay attention, we really have to use our best engagement strategies to help the people who raise their hand and said, Yes, I want to learn from you. So I love me. A good story. I open loops and tell stories. An interesting thing that happened, and I didn’t do this on purpose, but when I was going through a mold, the mold journey in my home, it was like, one big open loop because I was sharing real time. So I’d be like, Okay, now we got this test up. Okay, now we’re moving to an Airbnb. Oh, well, look, we have a rash now, right? Like, there was, like, this, they were waiting with me. When are we going to get the results back? When are you going to move back in? And I had tons of new followers and lots of engagement. I wasn’t really attempting to track the whole mold crowd. It wasn’t my specialty. So be careful with your open loops and make sure they’re on the topic that you actually want to be sharing, but they will, they will keep people coming back for more. All right, so which of these are you doing? Which of these are you using? I’d love to hear we, we love you know, what can happen in a seven day container and training is insane, honestly, people, each time the stories I’m getting back after the week, are starting to surprise me more and more. And I think what’s happening is they’re seeing the shifts of the other people and hearing the stories of the people from the last training. And then their brain goes, Oh, it’s possible for me too. And then they’re one upping them, and it’s just created this, like the coolest, up level stories after each time. So if you are interested in joining us for seven days, we do it twice a year, April and October. We’d love to have you jump on a call or apply for a spot. So just reach out to us. So we have modules on there, if the eight or nine. Now, we’re always adding, honestly, I’ve added a few coaching examples. We’ve added, there’s the basic topics that you learn about language and that you learn about pre frames and anchoring, and there’s going to, you’re going to start to learn these topics, you know, like, from a cognitive standpoint. And then what we decided to do, since you know these things do require actually, practicing and understanding. We’re gonna offer four bonus live coaching calls. Never done this before.
